The joint location in the Technology Centre in Hamm has led to spontaneous exchange of experiences of companies and their staff from the sector of plant safety and explosion prevention.

The plant planners, Engineers' offices and the manufacturers of safety equipment have recognised that standards in the sector of plant safety and explosion prevention have to be created. A group of experienced experts who now meet regularly to exchange experiences has developed and further companies from all over Germany have joined it.

The idea developed early on to create a know-how transfer between all those active in the sector of plant safety and explosion prevention to link the people with the authorities, to reach other companies and initiatives, and for this, a suitable form of organisation had to be found.

Thus from the regular meeting to exchange experiences a non-profit organisation - the ESMG e.V. was founded in Hamm.
